chary. Someone who is chary is careful and cautious about what they do or say. EG Enterprises are becoming increasingly chary of taking on new workers... She started a chary descent of the stairs. gallop, gallops, galloping, galloped. When a horse gallops, it runs very fast so that all four legs are off the ground at the same time in each stride. EG The horse galloped down the road with his ears flat to his head. If you say "That's more like it", you mean that the thing that you are referring to is more satisfactory than it was on earlier occasions. EG Fifteen miles a day, that's more like it.
